RPG Rules Systems/RuneQuest
A new version of RuneQuest, the classic role playing game, has been released by Mongoose Publishing with the approval of Greg Stafford (one of the original creators of the game.) The new rules pick up where the 2nd edition left off and include systems designed to bring those familiar with the d20 System in the RuneQuest fold.
Mongoose promises there will be supplements written by such notable game designers as Robin Laws and Ken Hite.
According to Mongoose "RuneQuest retains all the flavor of the previous editions and yet plays faster, more realistically and still provides endless opportunities for expansion. The main rulebook has been designed to provide everything a player needs at a reasonable price, while the growing range of supplements enhance the game in all directions."
Mongoose RuneQuest is suitable for multiple genres and campaigns ranging from Second Age Glorantha and Lankhmar to whatever fantasy world can be dreamed up.
Perhaps most importantly the new edition of RuneQuest is released with the Open Gaming License allowing third party publishers and fans to produce their own supplements and settings for the game without licensing fees.
